Yongjin Gate is located on Nanshan Road on the west bank of West Lake in Hangzhou. Yongjin Gate is one of the west city gates of ancient Hangzhou. It was built in the Wuyue State during the Five Dynasties. In 936 (the third year of Qingtai), King Qian Yuanguan of Wenzhao excavated Yongjin Pond and led the water of West Lake into the city, so Yongjin Gate was built. The pond is inside the city. According to the records in ‘Yunlu Manchao’ by people of the Song Dynasty, there used to be a golden ox emerging here in ancient times, hence the name. Yongjin Gate is also called Xiaojin Gate. The poet of the Song Dynasty had a poem ‘Not mentioning the beautiful place of lakes and mountains. In the early morning, Xiaojin Gate emerges.’ which is about Yongjin Gate. In the 1950s, Yongjin Park was established here and connected with Liulangwenying Park, becoming one of the main scenic spots along the lake on the west side of Nanshan Road. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
