Yongning Park is located in Huangyan District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, covering an area of 21 hectares. The designer, with an attitude and design philosophy of ‘coexisting with floodwaters’, transformed a cement-hardened river channel that was once solely for flood control into a diverse habitat system with the application of a large number of native species for riverbank protection in the riverside area, making it a vibrant modern environment and cultural leisure place—Yongning Park. The project integrates urban rainwater management, protection of native biodiversity, and residents’ daily leisure activities, promoting intensive urban land use and creating a healthy and beautiful living environment through economical means. As a demonstration project of the Yongning River Corridor, Yongning Park was awarded the ‘China Habitat Example Award’ in 2005 for its outstanding achievements in transformation and environmental comprehensive management. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
