Yongqing Temple in Hainan is a Buddhist lineage inherited from the Tang Dynasty. Historically, Yongqing Temple was first established during the Tang Dynasty, with a history of over a thousand years, and is one of the ancient ‘Eight Views of Chengmai’. The current Yongqing Temple enshrines forty-two Buddha statues, all carved from whole pieces of Burmese white jade, possessing high artistic and cultural value. It is the largest Buddhist temple in the northern part of Hainan, laid out according to the Song Dynasty’s ‘Jialan Qi Tang’ format, with lofty and magnificent halls.
