Not far west of the rear wall of Taiping Palace, there stands a massive circular rock supported by two other large boulders. These three huge rocks form a natural stone cave. On the outer wall of the cave, there are four large characters carved in relief double-hook style – ‘Canglong Laoao’. Inside, the cave is deep, spacious, and can accommodate more than 20 people. On the altar, Taoist Quanzhen sect founder Wang Chongyang and his seven disciples are enshrined. The cave is called ‘Laojun Cave’ because it was dedicated to Laozi before the Ming Dynasty. On the upper part of the large round stone at the top of the cave, there are three sets of constellation diagrams carved, along with the three characters ‘Hunyuan Shi’. Legend has it that over 1000 years ago, Liu Ruozhuo practiced alone on it for ten years, uninterrupted, and thus became a renowned Taoist master. The opening hours and business status are subject to the actual opening conditions on the day.
