The Yuan Dadu City Wall Ruins Park is located on the north side of urban Beijing. It starts from Shaoyaoju in the east, extends to Xitucheng on the west side, and then turns southward until it reaches Mingguang Bridge. It is a long, strip-shaped park about 9 kilometers long. The park is built along a long strip of the Yuan Dadu city wall. Trees, flowers, and open lawns are planted around the ancient city wall, creating a beautiful environment.
There are several locations on both sides of the city wall where cultural landscapes such as sculptures and relief paintings are set up, and people can stroll and visit here. There are a total of seven main nodes in the park. From west to east, they are respectively the seven parks of ‘Imperial Inspection of Two Capitals’, ‘Guests from All over the World’, ‘Begonia Flower Stream’, ‘Prosperity of Dadu’, ‘Lights of Water Street’, and ‘Leaping Fish in Longze’. They are evenly distributed in the long strip park area of 9 kilometers. Each park is backed by the antique original city wall. The sides of the city wall are mainly cultural sculptures and reliefs. Statues of Yuan Dynasty emperor Kublai Khan and others can be seen, as well as many paintings. Among the seven nodes, the two worth seeing are ‘Imperial Inspection of Two Capitals’ and ‘Begonia Flower Stream’. ‘Imperial Inspection of Two Capitals’ is a wonderful relief mural reflecting the situation of the emperor inspecting the two capitals in the Yuan Dynasty. At ‘Begonia Flower Stream’, thousands of begonia trees are planted. Every April, when the begonia flowers bloom, it is very beautiful against the city wall and is suitable for photography and sketching. The opening hours are from 06:30 to 22:00 all year round. The specific opening hours are subject to the on-site announcements of the scenic spot. Service facilities: There is a nursing room near the tourist center of the Yuan Dadu City Wall Ruins Park. Tourists can freely breastfeed, take care of babies, and change diapers at the nursing center for free.Yuan Dadu City Wall Ruins Park
