The Yuebo Pavilion, situated at the west end of the curved bridge of the Imperial Book Tower, marks the western boundary of the water courtyard. This architectural gem was first constructed in 1699, during the 38th year of Kangxi’s reign in the Qing Dynasty. Today, it stands as an open wooden pavilion, adorned with a Xieshan roof that embodies the style of the Qing era.
The pavilion, facing east, spans three bays in width and is built over the lake’s surface, providing a unique vantage point. Its design includes beautiful backrest seats between the columns, inviting visitors to pause and enjoy the serene lake views. Welcoming guests all year round, the Yuebo Pavilion is open throughout the day, offering a picturesque retreat for relaxation and contemplation.
