Yufeng Pavilion, located beside West Lake in Hangzhou, originally served as a memorial to the pioneer of the 1911 Revolution, Qiu Jin, also known as the ‘Heroine of Mirror Lake’. In 1959, the memorial hall was demolished and a pavilion was later constructed at the site to commemorate her.
Above the northern eaves of the pavilion hangs a pair of old couplets recorded by Wei Chuantong, which reads: ‘Women bow to heroes, seeking benevolence and attaining it, what regret is there?’ ‘Pavilions and terraces mourn the wind and rain, though dead, not dead, forever free.’ Opening hours: Open all year round, 24/7.Yufeng Pavilion
