Yuhuangding was originally named Yuhuangding (Jade Emperor Peak) and also known as Xiaopenglai. During the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty, an edict was issued ordering the construction of temples to worship the Jade Emperor in various places. Therefore, there is a complex of Yuhuang Temple here. During the renovation of the Yuhuang Temple in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, upon the suggestion of literati and refined scholars, it was renamed Yuhuangding. Although Yuhuangding is only 72 meters above sea level, it is located in the center of Zhifu District, Yantai City. You can closely observe the forest and attics, and from a distance, you can see the beautiful scenery of Yantai urban area. Yuhuangding is also known as ‘Xiaopenglai’ because of its extraordinary charm. You can overlook the sea and feel as if you are in the fairyland of Penglai when you are in it.

Opening hours: Open all year round from 06:00 to 21:00.
