Yunluo Botanical Garden is located at the southern foot of Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area in Guangzhou. It is one of the ex-situ conservation demonstration areas of the National Botanical Garden System in Guangzhou, covering an area of 90 hectares.
Following the concepts of urban-park integration, ecological symbiosis, and people’s sharing, and adhering to the principle of combining in-situ conservation and ex-situ conservation, Yunluo Botanical Garden integrates tourism display, science popularization exhibition, management services, and the regional environment. It advocates green, low-carbon, and conservation, adheres to the wisdom of Chinese garden construction, and reflects the unique charm of garden art. The park fully respects the original topography, landforms, water system distribution, and plant base, and constructs a spatial layout of eight gardens and three water areas. There are eight special gardens, including the Bougainvillea Special Garden, the Aromatic Plant Special Garden, the Kapok Avenue, the Edible and Medicinal Plant Special Garden, the Orchid Special Garden, the Rainforest Plant Special Garden, the Moss Special Garden, and the Iris Special Garden. More than 1,500 native and rare plants are conserved here, such as Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Glyptostrobus pensilis, Paphiopedilum purpuratum, Paphiopedilum spicerianum, Sphaeropteris lepifera, Antiaris toxicaria, and Angiopteris fokiensis. Among them, there are more than 20 national key protected plants and nearly 60 second-class protected plants. Enjoy the magnificent kapok blossoms on the grandstand and search for the fragrance of orchids in the depths of the rainforest. Here, you can look up at the strange, beautiful, and towering peaks, explore the mysteries of plants on foot, and overlook the gurgling streams in the valley, thus appreciating the beauty of nature.
