Yunmeng Mountain Scenic Area, located in Qi County, Hebi City, is approximately fifteen kilometers west of the county town. There are multiple buses departing from the Qi County social bus station to the scenic area daily, with a journey time of about 30 minutes. The scenic area is divided into three parts: the main scenic area (Warring States Ancient Arsenal, Shangsheng Ancient Temple), Wuli Ghost Valley (canyon), and Yunmeng Grassland. The scale of the canyon and the ‘grassland’ within the scenic area is not particularly large; the canyon is a valley that is neither deep nor long, and the grassland’s highlight lies not in its size but in its rarity as a grassland within the Taihang Mountain range. Upon entering the scenic area, visitors can follow the directional signs and take the designated walking trails for sightseeing. The Shangsheng Ancient Temple is situated on the northern mountain, while the Warring States Ancient Arsenal, the main attraction in the main scenic area, is located on the southern mountain. It is said that this was the place where the founder of the Warring States period’s strategists, ‘Guiguzi’ Wang Zan, secluded himself and taught his disciples. The National Defense University has designated this place as ‘Ancient Chinese Military Cultural Education Base’. Renowned figures from the Warring States period such as Sun Bin, Pang Juan, Su Qin, Zhang Yi, and Mao Sui all studied military strategy and tactics here under Guiguzi. Today, there are still cultural attractions in the mountain such as the Guiguzi Cave, Tai Sun Bin Cave, Pang Juan Cave, and Sun Bin Tomb. In addition, there is a large-scale cliff inscription of ‘Guiguzi’ military books with a relatively large number of characters nationwide. Apart from cultural relics and attractions, the scenic area boasts lush green mountains, thriving vegetation, and numerous waterfalls and springs, making it an excellent place for mountain leisure. However, if you visit in winter, the waterfalls and springs are mostly dried up, and the vegetation has turned yellow, presenting a stark winter landscape of the northern mountains. There are several small shops throughout the mountain where you can purchase snacks and drinking water. The scenic area is open year-round from 08:00 to 17:00.
