Yuqiu Lake, formerly known as Yu Qiu Lake, is located within the county town of Gaotang, encircling the old city area, hence it is also referred to as the Huancheng Lake or the Four Lakes of Gaotang.
Yuqiu Lake was formed from ancient earthworks for city construction and consists of four parts: Southeast Lake, Southwest Lake, Northeast Lake, and Northwest Lake. The lake covers an area of 1000 acres, making it one of the larger county-level urban lakes in the North China region.
