Yuyao Museum is located at the western foot of Longquan Mountain in the beautiful Yuyao urban area. It is a harmonious combination of ancient buildings and modern buildings and is a unique landmark building in Yuyao. The basic exhibition of Yuyao Museum is ‘Ten Thousand Households by Misty Waters – Yuyao Ancient Civilization Exhibition’. It is divided into five parts: preface hall, Yaojiang cultural context, famous city in the southeast, land of famous literature, and rhyme of Yaojiang River. More than a thousand pieces of various cultural relics and representative cultural relics and precious classics from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties are on display, including pottery, porcelain, bone ware, stoneware, jade ware, gold and silver ware, bronze ware, bamboo ware, celebrity calligraphy and paintings, rare books and other rare editions. It can be described as a dazzling array of exquisite works. The entire exhibition uses modern means and combines ornamental multimedia and scene arrangements to display the colorful historical picture scroll of Yaojiang culture from multiple angles and at multiple levels, focusing on presenting the long-standing Hemudu culture, Yue kiln celadon culture, celebrity culture, academic culture and ancient Yue culture in Yuyao. It fully interprets the humanistic charm and regional charm of Yuyao as a famous city in the southeast and a land of famous literature, and deeply reflects the rich cultural accumulation of Yuyao. Opening hours: Closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; open from 08:30 to 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday from May 1st to September 30th; open from 09:00 to 16:30 from Tuesday to Sunday from October 1st to December 31st; open from 09:00 to 16:30 from Tuesday to Sunday from January 1st to April 30th; open from 08:30 to 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
