Zeng Qin’s Ancient Kiln

Zeng Qin’s Ancient Kiln, originally established during the Qing Dynasty, has a history of over 170 years. It measures 33 meters in length and 1.8 meters in height, capable of firing over 20,000 pieces of celadon in a single batch. In 2008, it was designated as one of the first intangible cultural heritage protection bases in Zhejiang Province.
The dragon kiln firing technique is the crystallization of a thousand years of inheritance by the ancestors of Longquan, with the kiln transformation works being particularly fascinating. The unpredictable colors are something that modern gas kilns cannot replicate.

Zeng Qin’s Ancient Kiln is one of the important tourist attractions of China’s Celadon Town, attracting numerous visitors each year. This is a firing event after the dragon kiln has undergone recent upgrades and renovations. The pathways around the kiln have been widened, reducing the time needed to transport newly fired celadon and accommodating more visitors for viewing. The entire dragon kiln now appears more imposing than before. The central park, the ‘Cultural Wall’ at the entrance, and the bluestone slabs add more character to the ancient kiln.

The kiln is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
