Zhangjiawan Ancient City, located in Zhangjiawan Town, Tongzhou District, Beijing, is an ancient city built during the Ming Dynasty. In 1995, the ‘Tongyun Bridge and the remains of the Zhangjiawan Town city wall’ were listed as the fifth batch of cultural relics protection units in Beijing. In 2013, the ‘Zhangjiawan city wall and Tongyun Bridge’ were included as part of the Beijing section of the Grand Canal and became part of the Grand Canal, a national key cultural relics protection unit.
