Zhangshiyan is located in Zanhuang County, Shijiazhuang City. It is about more than one hundred kilometers by car from Shijiazhuang urban area. It is a natural scenic area mainly featuring the unique Zhangshiyan landform. In the scenic area, you can climb mountains for exercise, view the spectacular landform, and also stay here for summer vacation and leisure. It is a good place for outing in Shijiazhuang City in summer.
The Zhangshiyan scenic area is divided into four parts: Huang’annao (main peak) scenic area, Zhihutao (echo wall) scenic area, Donglingbei scenic area and Jiunüfeng scenic area. Generally, it takes about two days to visit the entire Zhangshiyan scenic area. In the morning of the first day, climb the main peak and in the afternoon, go to the Zhihutao scenic area. In the morning of the second day, climb the Jiunüfeng scenic area and in the afternoon, go to Donglingbei. In Zhangshiyan Village at the foot of the mountain in the scenic area, there are many farmhouses where you can stay. Because the mountain air is cool, many people will stay here for summer vacation and the environment is very good. The Zhangshiyan landform, together with Danxia landform and Zhangjiajie landform, is known as the three major sandstone landforms in China. It refers to the red accumulated sandstone cliffs. The mountains in the scenic area are all spectacular red cliffs. The vertical rock walls and stone pillars are very spectacular and are the main attractions when visiting. The Yixiantian and echo wall in the mountains are among the spectacular parts and must not be missed. In addition, there is also a Huaiquan Temple in the echo wall scenic area.
