Zhao’an Wenchang Palace is a double-peaked sword layout building, with the main hall spanning three bays in width and two depths. The plaque ‘Wenchang Palace’ hangs prominently in the middle.
Upon entering the second depth, one finds a double-eaved, hip-roofed pavilion known as the ‘Baiting’, which serves as a hall for worship. Inside the main hall, Wenchang Dijun, the God of Literature, is enshrined. The architectural framework is characterized by a transitional style between Chaozhou and Zhangzhou, known as the ‘three-layered and five-melon’ structure. On either side of the main hall, there are auxiliary lanes, inscribed with ‘Mountains and Rivers Emerging from Clouds’ and ‘Sun and Moon United’. The rear enclosure features a two-story Kuixing Pavilion.Zhao’an Wenchang Palace
