The former site of the Zhedong District Committee of the Communist Party is a wooden-structured residential building from the late Qing Dynasty. The main building has seven rooms. On each side, there are two rooms connected to the main building by eaves corridors. In the middle is a courtyard paved with pebbles. It is surrounded by high walls and decorated with tall horse-head fire walls. The doors and windows have a unique style. In addition to lattice windows and doors, there are stone windows with patterns symbolizing auspiciousness and full of life interest.
From 1943 to 1945, the Zhedong District Committee of the Communist Party was based here. It can be regarded as the “heart” of the Zhedong Anti-Japanese Base centered on Liangnong. The former site of the Zhedong District Committee now serves as the “Zhedong Revolutionary Base Memorial Hall”. The hall displays many precious revolutionary artifacts, showing the remarkable revolutionary struggle history of the people of Zhedong during the Anti-Japanese War under the leadership of the Party. The opening hours are subject to the notice on site at the scenic area.
