Zhejiang Fort is located on the south side of Lishan at the confluence of Xiaojia River, Qijia Mountain Street, Beilun District, Ningbo City, and was built in the sixth year of the Guangxu period (1880). It consists of three earth-rammed platforms shaped in a concave pattern. In the tenth year of the Guangxu period (1884), it was equipped with one 80-pound Vavasseur front-loading cannon, two 46-pound Vavasseur front-loading cannons, two British earth cannons, and later added two 12 cm Krupp rear-loading cannons and one 17 cm Krupp rear-loading cannon. In 1936, a 21 cm Krupp rear-loading cannon was moved from Pingyuan Fort, and in 2007, the base of this cannon was relocated to the former site of Weidu Primary School for collection. Currently, the fort is severely damaged, with most of the walls having collapsed, although two rooms of the northwestern three-combined earth barracks remain relatively intact. In November 1996, as part of the Zhenhaikou Coastal Defense Relics, it was declared a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit by the State Council. The fort is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
