Shantou Chao Hongji Zhenbao Jewelry Museum, referred to as the ‘Zhenbao Museum’, was established in 2013. The new museum was completed in October 2023 and is located in Haojiang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It is a jewelry-themed museum that houses a collection of gold and silver artifacts and showcases traditional handicraft masterpieces.
The Zhenbao Museum (new building) was designed and planned by the renowned German gmp Architects Berlin team, with a construction area of nearly 8000 square meters. The entire exhibition space is inspired by a jewelry box, divided into 11 jewelry compartments. In addition to seven permanent theme exhibition halls, the museum is also equipped with special exhibition halls, a library, a workshop, and an immersive digital experience space. The collection focuses on traditional Han Chinese gold and silver jewelry and includes jewelry from various ethnic minorities such as the Miao, Yao, and Tibetan peoples, with a collection of over a thousand pieces. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and the museum is closed all day on Mondays.
