Zhènjì Temple, also known as Wǔyún Temple, is situated at the summit of Wǔyún Mountain in Hangzhou. Within the temple complex, there are two ancient wells that have never run dry, even during droughts, a remarkable fact considering their high altitude location.
To the east of the temple, a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree stands tall, reaching a height of 21 meters with a trunk approximately 2.5 meters wide. It is so large that it takes the combined arms of five people to encircle it, and it is acclaimed as the ‘Number One Ancient Tree of Hangzhou’.
Nowadays, Zhènjì Temple is not only a place for worship and offering incense but also a leisure spot for tourists who have climbed the mountain. The temple is open all year round and accessible to visitors 24 hours a day.
