Zherong Yuanyang Grassland is located approximately 5 kilometers from the county town of Zherong, encompassing an area of about 5000 acres surrounded by a mix of broadleaf and coniferous forests. From the core area of the grassland, the distant mountains resemble miniature artificial clay sculptures. Standing atop the grassland at ‘Yuanyang Peak’, one can gaze eastward to see the integration of Taimu Mountain and the vast East China Sea.

On clear mornings, the rare sight of the sun rising from the horizon can be observed. To the south, one can view the entirety of the high peak ‘Mu Hai Jian’ (elevation 1192.4 meters) at the border of Zherong and Xiapu, with the vast sea of the strait beyond. Looking westward, nearby one can see Zherong Nanshan (elevation 1301.7 meters), and in the distance, the World Geopark ‘Baiyun Mountain’ (elevation 1450.

2 meters) amidst the rolling mountains. To the north, the main peak of the Taimu Mountain range, ‘Dong Shi Mountain’ (elevation 1479 meters), is visible with its clouds and rosy glow. In spring, the grasslands are adorned with the blooming of lilac, red, and white azaleas, competing with the wildflowers across the hills, attracting numerous bees and butterflies to dance freely. Being amidst this scenery brings joy to the heart.

In summer, the lush green hills blend with the blue sky and white clouds, presenting a natural canvas that soothes the soul. In autumn, the undulating meadows bloom with silver grass flowers, swaying gracefully in the breeze. In winter, the reddish grasslands contrast sharply with the surrounding green broadleaf and coniferous forests. If a fortunate snowfall occurs, the grasslands are draped in silver, adding to the delight.
