Zhongshan Institute, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China is an independent full-time ordinary undergraduate college run by private individuals jointly held by Zhongshan Municipal People’s Government and University of Electronic Science and Technology. The college was formerly known as Sun Yat-sen University Sun Yat-sen College. In 1995, it was renamed Zhongshan College and implemented a management system jointly managed by the province and the city, with the city taking the lead. In 2002, the school was renamed Zhongshan Institute, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. As of July 2019, according to the school’s official website, the college covers an area of about 658 mu, with a building area of 390,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is nearly 120 million yuan. There are 11 secondary colleges (teaching departments), offering 41 undergraduate majors. There are more than 1,000 faculty members and nearly 19,000 full-time undergraduate students.
