Zhongshan Pavilion is located at the front of Meihua Village in Qianshan, Zhuhai City. It was rebuilt in 1986 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. There is also a Zhongshan Pavilion in Changsha, which was originally constructed in the 1930s and is one of the modern iconic cultural relics in Changsha, Hunan Province. Initially built in 1912, it was destroyed by a typhoon in 1915 and was reconstructed in August 1925 with reinforced concrete structure.
In 1986, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s birth, the Zhuhai Municipal Government allocated funds for its reconstruction. The pavilion features four columns and a pointed roof, covered with blue glazed tiles. The pavilion’s plaque, ‘Zhongshan Memorial Pavilion,’ was inscribed by Wu Nansheng. It covers an area of approximately 592.6 square meters. A stone plaque inscribed with ‘The World is for All’ stands to the south of the pavilion, while a stele engraved with ‘Introduction to Qianshan Zhongshan Memorial Pavilion’ in official script stands to the north. In 1986, it was declared a cultural heritage site in Zhuhai. It is open to the public all year round, with full-day access.Must Read
