Zhou Huang’s Tomb is located in Group 3, Mingjia Community, Dashun Township, Fuling District. It faces east. The tomb covers an area of 2,600 square meters and was built in 1792 (the 57th year of Emperor Qianlong’s reign). It consists of a mound, an altar for worship, an archway, a stele pavilion, and a sacred way. The tomb is a large-scale earthen tomb built with stone strips. The archway in front of the tomb has four columns and three openings and was built by imperial edict of Emperor Qianlong. The inscription ‘Erected on August 25th, the 57th year of Emperor Qianlong’s reign’ is engraved on the archway. The carvings of dragons and phoenixes are magnificent. The couplet on the pillar of the archway is engraved with: ‘Respected as an official in charge of the heir apparent, known for learning. Renowned overseas, dedicated and industrious.’ The couplet on the back is: ‘The Jade Hall once remembered the golden belt of Su, and the military office still passes on the soldiers of sixty years old.’
