The Peking Man Site Museum at Zhoukoudian is located in Zhoukoudian Town, on the southwestern side of Fangshan District. It is a scenic area built around the Peking Man site, featuring a museum, an archaeological park, and natural scenery. The site is approximately 50 kilometers away from the city center of Beijing, making it an ideal destination for history enthusiasts.

The scenic area is currently divided into two main parts. The first part is the museum, which showcases the lifestyle and evolutionary history of the ‘Peking Man’ through texts, images, fossils, bones, and numerous artifacts unearthed from the site. It also offers movies and interactive games for visitors to explore and enjoy.

The second part is the archaeological park, located just behind the museum, atop a small hill. Along the way, visitors can see cave sites and observe the environment in which early humans lived at the cave entrances. The journey also offers beautiful scenery, including small canyons, waterfalls, and a viewing platform at the summit, all of which are worth visiting. The entire tour takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
