Zhoushan Opium War Historic Site Park

Zhoushan Opium War Historic Site Park, formerly known as Zhushan Park, is a significant historical and cultural landmark situated on Zhushan and Xiaofengling in the west of Dinghai, a renowned historical and cultural city. Spanning an area of 12 hectares, the park was completed in June 1997. Zhushan, standing at an elevation of 92 meters above sea level, is a scenic spot that faces the sea and is nestled against the mountains. Xiaofengling, in close proximity to Zhushan, serves as a strategic vantage point offering panoramic views of various sea areas in the southern region of Dinghai, from east to west, encompassing numerous townships.

During the 1840s, Xiaofengling was the primary battlefield for the second Dinghai defense battle in the Opium War. The park is home to a variety of historical sites and memorials, including broken columns, steles inscribed by numerous generals, tombs of fallen soldiers, the commemorative square dedicated to three generals, the Proud Pavilion, the Opium War Memorial Hall, the Three Loyalty Shrine, and the sites marking the deaths of Ge Yunfei, Wang Xipeng, and Zheng Guohong.

Visitors can explore the park from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year, with opening hours from 08:30 to 11:30 in the morning and from 13:30 to 16:00 in the afternoon. The park remains closed all day on Mondays.
