As geographical mobility gradually resumes, we witness changes in landscapes, and people’s perceptions of home and family also change as a result. These changes inspire photographers’ inspiration and creative enthusiasm, opening a new page for Hong Kong art. The flagship exhibition of the Hong Kong International Photo Festival in 2024 is titled ‘Visions of Light – Imagining Home’, aiming to explore these evolving physical, cultural and even psychological landscapes. The exhibition invites 15 photographers of different generations to display their collections on Hong Kong since 2020 as a visual record of social changes under the new normal. These artworks together weave an ongoing, fragmented Hong Kong story, where the individual and the collective are intertwined, blending subjective imagination and objective reality, allowing nostalgia and futurism to reflect and inform each other. Opening hours are from 11/08 to 12/08, 11:00 – 20:00. The performance time and duration are subject to the on-site situation.
