In 2019, an album called ‘My Name’ made everyone know Jiao Maiqi. In the same year, the ‘My Name’ livehouse national tour concert made more people fall in love with this post-90s singer-songwriter full of whimsical ideas in music. Four years later, today the producer ‘Youcishan Culture’ and the full-process organizer ‘CMC Live Entertainment’ jointly announced the official announcement of Jiao Maiqi’s second tour – ‘Swim Home! The national tour concert is launched. The first round of official announcements includes five cities: Wuhan, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Changsha, and Chengdu. The first stop in Wuhan was a success. The Shenzhen stop on July 15, the Nanjing stop on August 5, the Changsha stop on December 2, and the Chengdu stop on December 9. The Shanghai stop on April 13, 2024, the Beijing stop on June 1, the Hangzhou stop on July 13, and the Suzhou stop on November 2 have met with fans. The Tianjin stop will ring in the new year and start singing together with everyone on December 31. Since his debut, Jiao Maiqi has maintained strong creative power and has become increasingly mature under the polishing of various music festivals and music variety shows. He has also gone from livehouses to a larger stage. The new second tour will set the venue in a stadium that can accommodate more audiences. After four years, Jiao Maiqi will present himself in a completely new look in terms of both the richness of musical content and the expressiveness of the live stage. If ‘My Name’ is the revelation of Jiao Maiqi’s youthful thoughts, then the second album ‘Alien’ is a highly free creative experiment, showing everyone more of his possibilities. In terms of the stage design of this concert, it will also be more in line with Jiao Maiqi’s current musical temperament. While maintaining the image of a youthful and mischievous boy, it will also let everyone see a more multi-faceted and three-dimensional journey of a young boy’s growth. There is Jiao Maiqi full of vitality and energy as everyone knows, and we will also see his sorrow and his thinking about the world. It is both a display of self-realization and a growth in speculation. The entire concert will realize creative ideas and create through sound and light perception and spatial thinking. Use elements such as music and sound effects, makeup and styling, words, and vision to form multiple nested and progressive units. Immerse yourself in the singer’s thoughts in different periods under the subdivided sections. Through this stage design and stage art expressiveness, let everyone have a completely new experience in visual senses and jointly enter a fictional illusion and a lingering summer, a strange world belonging to Jiao Maiqi. In terms of the arrangement of the concert song list, it is a dialogue between Jiao Maiqi about the past and the future. In addition to spanning two albums – ‘My Name’ and ‘Alien’, the song list of this concert also adds many classic songs that Jiao Maiqi has participated in covering in recent years.
Jiaomaiqi is also planning to perform unreleased tracks from his new album during the concert. The setlist begins with the fantastic journey of ‘Alien’ and moves on to the free-spirited imagination of youth: starting from visiting the romantic Milky Way and concluding with self-reflection upon returning to ‘Earth’. This structure, in terms of sequence and combination, constructs the multifaceted image of Jiaomaiqi. The performance is divided into several chapters, each with a meticulously designed song combination, as if telling an unfinished story. The Tianjin stop will meet everyone at the Tianjin Olympic Center Gymnasium on December 31st. We will set off together, following Jiaomaiqi as we journey through his wonderful waters.
The event is open from December 31st to January 1st, Tuesday to Wednesday. The performance time and duration are subject to the on-site schedule.
