Counter-Strike (CS) is one of the most international esports with a history of over 25 years, covering users in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide. The CS Major series, which began in 2013, is the highest level of competition in the CS project and has a history of 11 years. Over the past decade, the event has been held in cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, and Stockholm, attracting fans from around the world to watch and boasting a wide online audience. The event’s live broadcast is available in multiple languages including Chinese, English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Finnish, making it one of the most watched esports events globally. Following the announcement at the 2024 Global Esports Conference that the 2024 Counter-Strike World Championship (CS Major) would be held in Shanghai, it has garnered widespread attention from both the industry and the public. This edition of the Major and the offline qualifiers in Shanghai feature an extended schedule of 35 days and a massive lineup of 56 teams, making it the largest-scale event in the history of the CS project and a phenomenal presence among all esports. In December 2024, players from around the world will focus on Shanghai, China, looking forward to this world-class esports feast. The event is open from December 12th to 15th, Thursday to Sunday, with performance times and durations subject to the actual event.
