The forms of gable ridges are divided into five types: ‘gold, wood, water, fire and earth’ according to the orientation and layout of houses. The indoor floor of residential buildings adopts the local traditional red square bricks. The pavement of the indoor floor also has certain metaphors. For example, the floor in the hall is paved in an inclined ‘human’ shape, implying popularity and prosperity. The floor of the bedroom is paved in a staggered ‘Ding’ shape, implying the birth of a boy. The floor of the corridor is paved in a ‘field’ shape, implying that the family has fields. There are many ancient wells and ancient trees in the traditional dwellings in the ‘Yixingjia Sanxiang Historical Block’. There are currently 143 ancient wells. Almost every residential building has an ancient well, and some are still in use. At the east alley entrance of Yijing Lane, there is still the ancient well ‘Yijing’ of the Song Dynasty.
