As a spiritual and cultural landmark of Nanjing, Xianfeng Bookstore has weathered over two decades in the city. In November 1996, the bookstore was founded opposite St. Paul’s Church on Taiping South Road, with an area of only seventeen square meters. Later, the bookstore relocated to Guangzhou Road, next to Nanjing University, and moved twice along Guangzhou Road before finally settling here. In 2004, the Xianfeng Bookstore Wutai Mountain flagship store opened in an underground parking lot converted from an air-raid shelter, with an operating area of nearly 3680 square meters. The opening hours are from 08:30 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday all year round; all day closed on Saturday and Sunday all year round, with specific business status subject to the day’s opening conditions.
