During the winter in Shanghai, there are few outdoor activities suitable for children to experience. Considering how hard children work during the week, it’s essential to find a paradise for relaxation on weekends! If there’s a place where children can get up close and personal with cute pets, play in a slide park, and enjoy water fun, doesn’t that sound great? It certainly does. In fact, Shanghai has such a magical paradise that offers a one-stop family experience, and it’s called Baoyan Paradise Flagship Store.

This large indoor park covers an area of about 20,000 square meters and boasts Shanghai’s unique all-season temperature-controlled water park (a five-star attraction). Additionally, it features Shanghai’s first large-scale outdoor grass sliding project, as well as a pet paradise, slide park, naughty castle park, and block world. The rooftop garden also offers horse riding, with many activities to choose from.

My route design includes: feeding pets in the pet paradise – horse riding and grass sliding on the rooftop playground – surfing and swimming in the indoor temperature-controlled pool (a five-star attraction) – sliding park (90-degree vertical slide for the brave) – naughty castle park – block world, and more.

December is the Christmas season, and Baoyan Paradise also provides lottery activities for visitors, offering many surprises and endless joy.

**Tips for entering the park:**
1. The park has family changing rooms, remember to bring swimming gear, a towel to dry off, and slippers are available in various sizes.
2. The temperature in the temperature-controlled water park is around 37 degrees Celsius, and due to the temperature difference inside and outside, glasses and camera lenses may fog up; a handkerchief can be prepared to wipe them.
3. Long sleeves and long pants are required for sliding to prevent scratches, which is naturally not a problem in winter. Additionally, anti-slip socks are needed for experience projects and are available for purchase at the park.
4. Outdoor venues, such as grass sliding, have fixed times and are free. It is recommended to check the schedule before playing to avoid missing out.
5. There is horse riding available outdoors, and it is suggested to experience it first.
6. Wearing an exclusive wristband allows multiple entries and exits to the park; the wristband is for personal use only.

I have visited Baoyan Paradise before, and this time, I came specifically for the all-season temperature-controlled water park, pet paradise, grass sliding, and horse riding. The water park and pet paradise close relatively early, and the rooftop outdoor venues are more suitable for daytime play, so start with these activities. As Christmas approaches, the festive atmosphere is rich, and the various Christmas decorations inside the park are very beautiful.

**Let’s get to the main point!**
**First stop, the pet paradise:** The pet paradise is located on the first floor and requires an additional fee. Upon entering, there is hand washing and disinfection, as well as temperature measurement, which is very thorough. Since there will be close contact with small animals, gloves are provided according to the size of the child, and you can buy fish food, carrots, and other food to feed the small animals. The small animals are very lively. We bought a bag of carrots to feed rabbits, golden hamsters, and marmots. Upon entering, we first saw llamas, which are very docile and do not spit on people. Seeing their fur in winter, it feels very warm, and you want to touch it. When the rabbits see food, they immediately rush up to grab it. There are also reptiles like lizards and turtles, making it a small zoo, with many ornamental fish and a goldfish pond. For feeding birds, there is special bird food available, with finches and parrots that are quite docile, with eyes that twinkle. The meerkats huddling together for warmth are so adorable!!! A group huddles together. Then one is woken up and turns its head to look at me. My sister almost let out a groundhog scream. In an instant, I saw that there were groundhogs nearby. There is a small device through which you can get close to the groundhogs to feed them. Watching the groundhogs jump in anger, oh, I feel a bit naughty. There are also raccoons, cats, and hedgehogs. There are many kinds of cute pets. A group of people are surrounding and feeding guinea pigs. Sure enough, the mini ones are the most popular. The cute pet paradise probably takes 1-2 hours to experience and interact.

When the gates officially open, staff will bring operating tools. This is a playground exclusively for children. Remember, if you wish to try again after playing, you’ll need to line up once more. The best part? It’s free! Be brave and step forward. Horseback riding is also highly recommended here. For older children, there are taller horses, and for the younger ones, smaller, more docile ones are available. Put on your riding gear for safety and let the horse trainer guide you around the field. It’s quite the experience! This activity requires separate payment.

### Interactive Dinosaur Park
For the remaining projects, there are more open time periods. Watch out for dinosaurs and the like that will make sounds, adding to the excitement. Look forward to the small train and other attractions. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter clowns on stilts giving out balloons.

After your roof garden tour, head straight to the Four Seasons Constant Temperature Water Park on the 3rd and 4th floors. This is our main attraction, open all year round, especially during winter when outdoor parks are closed. With a constant temperature of around 37 degrees, it’s comfortable for everyone. There’s a parent-child changing room for convenience, swimsuits for sale, provided slippers, showers, and restrooms. Just bring an extra towel. Storage lockers are available for a small fee of 10 yuan. The water slide is a hit with both adults and children. There are also hot spring massage pools, children’s paddling pools, and swimming pools. Safety is a priority here with shallow pools and clean water, allowing parents to keep a watchful eye.

### Slide Paradise – Dynamic VR Paradise
Exiting the water park, head to the first floor for a thrilling experience on the slides. If you haven’t had enough of water slides, various types of slides await you here. The 90-degree vertical slide is a characteristic project that tests your courage. Special protective clothing is required. While adults might feel timid, children often show great bravery. Staff are on hand to instruct and ensure safety.

The 45-degree slide is popular among many. There are also rainbow slides and various other options with diverse choices. Besides slides, there are exploration areas, 5D cinemas, and VR cinemas. Check the showtimes and enjoy!

### Fourth Stop: Naughty Castle Paradise + Block Paradise + Parent-Child Restaurant + Amusement Park

After your journey, you’re bound to be hungry. Fortunately, there’s a restaurant on-site. The parent-child restaurant on the second floor is highly praised for its improving taste. This time, I enjoyed Italian spaghetti, salted crispy chicken, and chicken wings, which were highly recommended for their size and tenderness. The ingredients are substantial, and the prices are comparable to those outside.
