Located within the Xu Fu Boating Mountain Scenic Area in Jinshan Town, Xinghui Temple is a historic site. According to historical records, after Xu Fu’s eastward voyage without return, the local people built a temple in his memory for worship and prayers during the Song Dynasty’s Xingning period, which was renamed Xinghui Temple. The temple fair that began then became renowned in Northern Jiangsu for its thriving incense and attracted a large number of fishermen and Buddhist followers who came to pay homage, with a continuous stream of worshippers.
After enduring the test of time, the temple buildings were completely destroyed. Since 2010, the reconstructed Xinghui Zen Temple now covers an area of 45 acres with a construction area of 33,120 square meters. The temple faces west and is symmetrically laid out with structures on the left and right. From west to east, the temple grounds include the Hall of the Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall, and the Scripture Repository; on the left side, there are the monks’ quarters, the Dharma Post Museum, and the Medicine Buddha Hall; on the right side, there are the monks’ quarters, the Dharma Logistics Office, and the Guangshi Guanyin Hall. The opening hours are subject to the daily operational status.Xinghui Temple
