As summer vacation commences, it’s the perfect time to unwind with Longlong, who has just concluded his end-of-term exams. Seeking an ideal retreat, Longlong’s top pick is an amusement park. However, given the sweltering heat of summer’s peak, the allure of air conditioning, a plethora of entertainment options, and delectable cuisine all under one roof is undeniable. With these preferences, Baoyan Paradise emerged as the summer vacation’s inaugural destination.

On July 28, 2020, at 21:23, we embarked on a one-day family escapade to Shanghai, with photography, independent travel, and a weekend getaway on the agenda. Longlong and I spent an entire day at Baoyan Paradise and still felt we hadn’t experienced enough. It’s a place where children revel in joy, and parents can also unwind and savor a rare vacation.

Key Attractions and Highlights

The most captivating projects for Junjun and Longlong, along with the must-visit highlights, are detailed below. These are the essential experiences not to be missed during your visit to Baoyan Paradise.

Baoyuan Paradise Tour Tips

Spanning five floors, Baoyan Paradise provides a comprehensive solution for dining, entertainment, and leisure, promising a full day of enjoyment. It is situated at No. 11, Lane 3825, Dushi Road, Minhang District, Shanghai, offering convenient transportation and four hours of free parking.

Before you set off, please take note of the following:

1. Both adults and children must bring swimsuits to partake in water-based activities.
2. Non-slip socks are required for all individuals entering the park.

With these tips in mind, prepare for an unforgettable day at Baoyan Paradise, where the entire family can create lasting memories and enjoy a well-deserved break from the daily grind. For sliding activities, it is important to wear long-sleeved shirts and pants to avoid being scraped by the slides.

The opening hours for the water park and the pet area are from 11:00 to 18:00.

The park’s opening hours (Monday to Friday) are from 9:30 to 20:30.

@ 1F · Dynamic VR Paradise
After entering the park and having our tickets checked, we experienced VR on the first floor, which gave us an immersive feeling and instantly got us excited.

@ 1F · Pet Paradise
After warming up, a group of adorable small animals attracted Longlong. The entire pet paradise is like a forest, where you can have close contact with small animals. With gloves on, you can touch and feed the animals. The cute alpaca is too adorable; looking at its hairstyle, it’s a cool guy, but it’s also a greedy drooler. Faced with various small animals, Longlong showed no fear, actively approaching, touching, feeding, and concentrating seriously.

@ 1F · Super Combo Slide Paradise
This is the internet-famous project at Baoyan Paradise, with slides of different gradients, which is a great opportunity to exercise children’s courage and bravery. The 90-degree vertical slide, from a height of 7.3 meters, takes only 4 seconds to slide to the ground, which is very thrilling. However, safety comes first; all equipment here is padded and has safety nets. Be sure to follow the staff’s instructions.

@ 1F · Seafood Workshop
After getting tired, you can rest at the Seafood Workshop on the first floor and eat some seafood. On the second floor of the park, there are many interactive entertainment projects. Longlong was most interested in the various seafood products and studied them carefully by the fish tank for a long time.
@ 2F · Joyful Bumper Cars
Longlong’s favorite, bumper cars, allows him to compete with other children and have a lot of fun.
@ 2F · Building Block World
The little engineer is on duty, moving large blocks of building blocks, left and right, and soon a city wall was built. It seems that the foundation from playing with Lego has been put to good use.
@ 2F · Naughty Castle Paradise
The world of ocean balls, my girlish heart also starts pounding, and I can’t help but take more photos. Various amusement facilities make it feel like being back in childhood, wanting to bury myself in the ocean balls.
On the second floor, there is a manicure salon and a parent-child craft room specially prepared for mothers. While accompanying their children, they can enjoy free manicures here, which is very thoughtful. Unfortunately, it is too popular and I haven’t been able to get a spot. So, I went to the parent-child craft room next door with Longlong and together we completed a work of great commemorative significance.
On the third and fourth floors, the most memorable part of this trip is the water park located on the third floor of the park. Baoyan Paradise has moved a large-scale water park indoors, with various water entertainment projects, including a 5-meter high and 32-meter long rainbow slide.Embarking on an exhilarating journey of fun and laughter, we set out to fulfill Longlong’s wish to visit a water park. Donning our swimsuits, we splashed around, immersing ourselves in the excitement.

The fifth floor, home to the rooftop grass sliding and children’s horse-riding area, is a haven on the open-air platform. Here, the thrills are amplified by the dinosaur-themed adventure projects and pirate ships, all situated high above the ground. The grass sliding, an internet sensation, offers unique terrain design that adds to the enjoyment, despite not being real grass.

Beyond the free attractions, the children’s horse-riding area on the fifth floor offers a pony ride for a modest fee of 50 yuan. Equipped with a protective helmet and suit, and under the watchful eye of the staff, Longlong was captivated by the gentle pony, riding around once more before reluctantly dismounting.

After a full day of adventure at Baoyan Paradise, we left with a heavy heart as the closing time approached. Open until 20:30 during the summer, Baoyan Paradise is the perfect place to create unforgettable memories with your children. A special reminder for the water park: don’t forget your swimsuits, as the fun is sure to last all day long!
