[Preface] In the midsummer of July, summer vacation also comes, which means the arrival of the happiest time for children. Although Yunbao has not gone to school yet and has no concept of summer vacation, the sense of ritual of summer vacation still cannot be lacking. This time, taking advantage of the opportunity of summer vacation, I took Yunbao to check in at Shanghai Baoyan Paradise, which I have been longing for for a long time. Shanghai Baoyan Paradise is really a wonderful and fulfilling parent-child journey. There are so many fun and interesting projects here. From the first floor to the fifth floor, the park area is about 20,000 square meters, and there are all kinds of amusement facilities. On the first floor, there is a lovely petting zoo and an exciting slide park; on the second floor, there are naughty castle parks, building block worlds, happy amusement games, mommy manicures, baking rooms, birthday rooms, etc.; on the third and fourth floors are all-season constant temperature water parks; on the fifth floor, there are roof grass skiing and lovely carousels. The tickets include all three parks. Make an appointment with the park in advance before coming. July is my favorite day in my childhood. The first month of summer vacation can always be spent playing wantonly and happily. I want to give Yunbao a happy summer vacation. Shanghai Baoyan Paradise is the destination of my planned parent-child tour during summer vacation in advance. This time, I set off against the scorching sun and drive to Shanghai Baoyan Paradise. The park is located at No. 11, 3825 Lane, Dushi Road, Minhang District, Shanghai. It is adjacent to the highway entrance and is very convenient for self-driving. The Baoyan parking lot can get 4 hours of free parking with a small ticket. If it exceeds 4 hours, it is 6 yuan per hour. Baoyan Paradise. From the exterior of the park building, you can see the wonders and fun here. Large and small dinosaurs are distributed in different places in the house. Some are by the wall on the first floor, and some are by the window on the second floor. As soon as Yunbao saw it, she happily shouted “dinosaurs”. Stepping into the park, compared to the high temperature and heat outdoors, it can be said to be very cool. At a suitable temperature, we successfully checked in quickly. The staff will put a bracelet on each of our wrists. With the bracelet, we can enter the main park and the adjacent petting zoo multiple times.
[The wonderful parent-child journey of Baoyan Paradise starts from the petting zoo]
The wonderful parent-child journey of Baoyan Paradise starts from the petting zoo. This is our first stop when we come to Baoyan Paradise. Entering the petting zoo, two lovely alpacas come into view first. The naive alpacas are very enthusiastic towards strangers. If you are interested, you can also spend 10 yuan to buy some alpaca-exclusive food to feed them. Remember to wear small gloves when interacting with animals. Opposite the alpaca area is a very lovely rodent area. There are lovely rabbits and hamsters here. The imitation wooden fence is not high. Babies like Yunbao who are more than two years old can also easily interact with rabbits. This design is really considerate. Walking in the park, you can see the attentiveness of the design everywhere. The imitation karst landscape and the imitation wooden environment. Each animal area is carefully designed for animals. For example, in the squirrel area, a super-long walking channel will be made for squirrels. At the moment of seeing the raccoon, Yunbao was extremely delighted because this was the first time she saw this kind of animal. I was also very surprised.
Passing through the pet area and walking along a wooden bridge, you arrive at the Rock Bay. The Rock Bay is primarily composed of rocks and water systems, with tanks and pools surrounded by massive rocks. Within these tanks and pools, a variety of beautiful fish reside. After admiring the lively fish, you’ll come to the Bird Paradise, a rectangular, enclosed space with branches distributed around it, where colorful parrots perch. In addition to the parrots in the trees, there are also beautiful and charming peacocks on the ground. Your child will feel particularly close to these familiar animals. After passing through the Bird Paradise, you’ll arrive at the final rodent area, where various types of rodents live. Don’t be afraid upon hearing ‘rodents’ because these creatures areThe Slide Park is located to the left after ticket inspection. It’s important to note that to experience the slides, you must wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and floor socks to prevent skin abrasions from high speeds. If you forget, these items can be purchased at the park. The entire Slide Park has a height of nearly 7.3 meters, featuring 13 slides of different gradients, each in a different color, truly a rainbow slide. Among the many slides, the 45-degree blue ocean ball slide and the 90-degree vertical slide are the most popular. There are also gentle slides that can be enjoyed with great happiness.
【Colorful Mischievous Castle Park】Take the elevator to the second floor, which is also a paradise for children to play. The experience projects here are more diverse and more suitable for younger children. To enter the Mischievous Castle, you need to take off your shoes, which can be stored for free in lockers. Floor socks are required. The vast ocean ball pool, with its endless view of yellow and white ocean balls, prompts your child to run in and start playing immediately. In the Mischievous Castle, there are not only countless ocean balls but also many rich entertainment projects, such as variously shaped small slides, climbing nets, and light and shadow magic balls. Here, parents can truly free their hands and watch their children play happily from the side. The numerous ocean balls and all facilities have been wrapped with anti-collision protection, very thoughtful and safe. In the Mischievous Castle, there is also a yellow and blue castle-shaped structure, which is great for taking photos. In addition to these, the castle also features a children’s rock climbing area. Seeing the older children climbing, your child under three years old will also be eager to try climbing on their own. With my help, to my surprise, she was able to stand up by herself. It’s important to note that supervision is still necessary for the rock climbing project to prevent any incidents. The super-large climbing net is something unique that I’ve seen for the first time in many children’s parks. Climbing nets of various shapes and varying difficulties serve as an excellent training ground for children’s strength and courage. Watching Yunbao diligently climbing from the outside, the pride within us is unparalleled. Adjacent to the naughty castle is the trampoline park, which consists of eight trampolines surrounded by high protective nets. It is commendable to see the meticulous attention Baoyan Park pays to children’s safety. This was not Yunbao’s first time on a trampoline, but it was certainly the best and most enjoyable, as if she had found the knack and joy of trampolining. Right in the center of the second floor is the Baoyan Parent-Child Restaurant, where tired visitors can savor delicious family meals to replenish the children’s energy, allowing them to continue their fun-filled day with vigor. The restaurant’s style is very charming, with white and pink as the main colors, creating a bright and clean dining environment. While waiting for the meal, one can visit the adjacent parent-child handicraft area to experience the joy of DIY with the children. At the far end of the second floor is the area for joyful amusement games, which boasts a variety of entertainment facilities. From common playground attractions like carousels, rocking horses, toy trains, and claw machines, to the block world where children’s attraction to blocks has always been unique. They use blocks to present all their beautiful imaginations of the world, making it the best place for parents to understand their children.
[All-Season Indoor Water Park, A Cool Journey with Yunbao] If there is a must-visit attraction in summer, in my opinion, it must be the water park. However, the scorching heat of summer can make outdoor water parks unbearable. Fortunately, on the 3rd and 4th floors of Baoyan Park in Shanghai, there is an indoor constant-temperature water park with water temperatures around 37 degrees Celsius and clean water quality. Here, regardless of the seasons or weather, visitors can enjoy a pleasant water play experience. Upon exiting the elevator, one enters the water park’s retail area, which mainly sells items needed for water parks, such as swimsuits, swimming rings, water guns, and more. To my great surprise, the swimsuit designs here are not only diverse but also very aesthetically pleasing. Those who have forgotten to prepare water play equipment can purchase them directly here. Additionally, there is a design that both my wife and I think is excellent: the thoughtful parent-child changing and shower rooms. With a separate entrance for families, the changing and shower rooms are spacious enough for three people, eliminating the need for one person to scramble with a child in the changing room. Upon entering the water park, the first thing that catches the eye is the large slide area. Watching people slide down from the top with their ‘fierce’ expressions, one can feel### The Water Park Experience at Shanghai Baoyan Paradise
#### The Large Slide Area
The large slide area is a spectacular attraction, featuring a towering 5-meter high, 32-meter long rainbow slide that captures the imagination. In addition, there are dozens of slides of varying lengths, catering to children of all ages. This is where visitors can truly experience the joy of the water park.
#### Children’s Water Play Area
In the children’s water play area, marine animal figures such as starfish, clownfish, and crabs stand in the pool, creating an underwater world that children can explore without ever leaving dry land. The park is filled with the presence of these creatures, from turtles lying in the water next to them to water-spouting apples and frog-shaped slides that are incredibly attractive to children who love animals.
#### Yunbao’s Adventure
Yunbao, a child with a contradictory nature, is filled with curiosity for new things but lacks the courage to be alone. She often asks for company when experiencing the park’s many projects, such as the frog slide, which provides a thrilling ride out of the frog’s mouth and into the water along its tongue. Water play is a universal interest for children, and Yunbao is no exception. Every corner of the children’s water play area becomes her playground, where she finds happiness at every turn.
The children’s water play area is sizable and U-shaped, distributed along the slide area. It includes water slides with gentle slopes and short lengths, perfect for children. Yunbao’s joy is palpable as she slides down with an adult’s support, eventually lying contentedly on their lap.
#### The Children’s Swimming Pool
Adjacent to the water play area is the children’s swimming pool, a favorite spot for many children, including Yunbao. Frequent swimming sessions have seen her progress from being at a loss to now being able to lift her head and kick her feet in the water, a significant achievement for her and her parents.
#### Indoor and Outdoor Excitement
At Shanghai Baoyan Paradise, the excitement extends beyond the water park. From the first floor to the fourth floor, there’s plenty to explore. The outdoor area on the fifth-floor roof is best saved for the evening, as playing under the July sun requires courage. The first attraction on the fifth floor is Brave the Jurassic, where various dinosaur models await, lifelike in their movements and sounds.
Next to the dinosaurs, you’ll find the carousel and small pirate ship. The carousel, themed around the Madagascar movie, is a charming sight with wooden horses transformed into zebras, monkeys, and giraffes. The area is populated with cute moles, making it an instant favorite for children like Yunbao.
#### Rooftop Grass Skiing and More
On the roof of the fifth floor, children can experience the thrill of grass skiing, sitting in carts and sliding down against the wind, their happiness evident on their faces. The roof area also offers outdoor small trains, horseback riding, and outdoor climbing nets for a variety of outdoor adventures.
#### Dining at Baoyan Paradise
A day at Shanghai Baoyan Paradise can be fueled by the many restaurants available. The Baoyan Seafood Workshop Restaurant on the first floor, the Baoyan Paradise Parent-Child Restaurant on the second floor, and a restaurant within the water park offer a diverse range of cuisine, including seafood, Western, Chinese, and fast food.
We chose the Baoyan Seafood Workshop Restaurant, which specializes in seafood selected live from tanks, weighed on-site, and prepared in a visible kitchen, ensuring a worry-free dining experience. A flash sale package deal offered a spicy stir-fried abalone and a salt and pepper dragon head roast for an incredible 53 yuan. The salt and pepper dragon head roast was a highlight, with a crispy exterior and tender, garlic-flavored meat inside, perfectly seasoned with a salt and pepper crust.**Fish and Rice Land Recipe**
