Ming Dao Palace is located in the county town of Luyi, the hometown of Laozi. It was first built during the Han Dynasty and flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties. It is a commemorative architectural complex for Laozi, the great ancient Chinese thinker, philosopher, and founder of the Daoist school. The current Ming Dao Palace scenic area, recorded in the Qing Guangxu County Chronicles, was restored and reconstructed in 2004. It consists of buildings such as ‘Yi Ren Wan Zai Fang’, ‘Sheng Xian Bridge’, ‘You Long Di’, ‘Ying Xi Dian’, ‘Xuan Yuan Dian’, ‘Xiang Dian’, and ‘Sheng Xian Tai (also known as Lao Jun Tai)’, featuring a grand scale, rigorous construction, and rich connotations.
The opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:30 all year round, and on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month, the business hours are from 00:00 to 18:00; the latest time to enter the park is 17:30.
