Zhucha Island is located in the Yellow Sea southeast of Xuejiadao. Originally an island fishing village with a history of more than 300 years, it is now the Zhucha Island Community Neighborhood Committee and belongs to the Xuejiadao Sub-district Office. The ‘pearl’ in one of the eight ancient scenic spots of Xuejiadao, ‘Phoenix Playing with a Pearl’, refers to Zhucha Island. The Zhucha Island community is composed of four islands: Zhucha Island, Tuo Island, Dashima Island, and Xiaoshima Island. The four islands are very close to each other and look like one from a distance. Only Zhucha Island is inhabited. The coastline of Zhucha Island is winding. The coastline surrounds the four islands and is up to 4.5 kilometers in total. The coastal slope is steep and the nearby sea area is vast with densely distributed reefs. Only the west side of the slope is relatively gentle. There are three small harbors, namely Dawan, Xiaowan, and Nanwan, where ships can anchor. The island has launched characteristic tourism mainly based on fisherman’s family fun, such as ‘eating fisherman’s meals, living in fisherman’s houses, viewing island scenery, and enjoying fisherman’s family fun’, combined with projects such as leisure sea fishing, bonfire parties, island scenery tours, and island culture displays, providing tourists with leisure tourism projects of ‘tasting seafood dishes, experiencing fisherman’s life, enjoying island scenery, and feeling fisherman’s culture’. While tasting delicious food, tourists can personally participate in the processes of seafood fishing, drying, and processing. They can also go fishing in designated sea areas with fishermen. On the nights of the peak tourist season, a bonfire is lit by the sea. Tourists can sing, dance, and play games around the bonfire and enjoy the fun of bonfire parties. Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
