Zhao Yidi’s Former Residence, commonly known as the ‘Miss Zhao Si Building,’ is an important part of the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, the Former Residence of Zhang Xueliang. From 1928 to 1931, General Zhang Xueliang and Ms. Zhao Yidi lived here and gave birth to their beloved son, Zhang Lulin.
After renovation, the ‘Miss Zhao Si Building’ is surrounded by newly reconstructed walls. Pushing open the iron gate, visitors are greeted by the fragrance of flowers throughout the courtyard. Potted plants are displayed along the inner walls. On the first floor, the reception room, ballroom, and dining room, and on the second floor, the meeting room, bedroom, piano room, living room, and bathroom are all elegantly decorated, making one feel as if Ms. Zhao Si’s presence and voice are still lingering.
