Following the brilliant chapter of American drama initiated by Eugene O’Neill, the birth of masters such as Arthur Miller and Edward Albee marked a new era. Amidst the constellation of shining stars in the theater world, Tennessee Williams swiftly gained international fame with masterpieces like ‘The Glass Menagerie’ and ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’. His focus on marginalized characters, implicit transgressive emotions, and obscured social realities have made his creations the center of attention. Even after nearly eighty years since their publication, these plays continue to offer a captivating and profound experience when revisited. From December 4th to 6th, this classic will be brought to life with a top-tier cast featuring renowned theater director Ivo van Hove and French multi-award-winning actress Isabelle Huppert, showcasing its charm and luster, and closing the 2024 National Centre for the Performing Arts International Theater Season with a bang. This performance is the only stop of the play’s China tour. Showtimes are from Wednesday to Friday, December 4th to 6th, starting at 19:30 each evening.
