Appreciating golden needle flowers is a unique aspect of Nantou’s tourist attractions. Located in the Sun Moon Lake area of Nantou, the soil is peat from the active basin, which is extremely rare, accounting for only 1% of the world’s surface area, and 0.3% after excluding the cold regions, making it one of the few peatland areas in the world. However, the moisture-resistant golden needle flowers are planted on the peat soil of the Toushe Active Basin, reviving this land once again. Especially in the summer, visitors can experience the beauty of the flower sea swaying with the wind. In addition to the golden needle flower season in August and September each year, in recent years, a new variety of golden needle flowers has been introduced in May on the plains. The garden is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00.
