Located in the west of the Central Mountain Range in Heping Township, Taichung County, there are peaks such as A-Yu Mountain, Da-Ba Peak, Snow Mountain, Pin Tian Mountain, Chi-You Mountain, and Tao Mountain, encompassing tropical, temperate, and cold primary forests. The main peak, Snow Mountain, stands at an elevation of 3,886 meters and is the second highest peak in Taiwan. The mountain is named ‘Snow Mountain’ because the snow reflects the sunlight and appears as white as jade.

Every November, when the cold wave first arrives, snowflakes can be seen dancing on the mountaintop, and during the winter, the ice is thick and the snow is abundant. Among the mountain gorges and cliffs, there are a series of icicles hanging like sharp and bright swords, exuding a chilling and imposing aura. On the north side of the Snow Mountain summit, there is a giant cirque about 1,000 meters long and 600 meters wide.

In winter, the cirque is filled with snow, resembling intricate silver and jade carvings from a distance, which is a spectacular sight and a unique feature of Snow Mountain. The mountain is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
