The renowned Peking duck restaurant ‘Fuju De’, once famous in the capital, saw its old manager retire due to illness, leaving the two young heirs to neglect their duties. Fortunately, the external aid Lu Mengshi was appointed in a moment of crisis, turning ‘Fuju De’ from loss to profit. As the business flourishes, the two heirs, unwilling to accept Lu Mengshi’s overshadowing achievements, vow to compete with him for financial control! Known as a contemporary masterpiece of realism in drama, ‘The Best Building in the World’ has won numerous awards, including the highest honor from the Ministry of Culture, the ‘Wenhua Award’, and the Chinese Drama Literature ‘Cao Yu Award’. After its premiere in 1988 by the Beijing People’s Art Theatre, it was invited to perform in Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and was adapted into a TV series, receiving widespread acclaim. The drama troupe performed for the first time in 2022, with tickets selling out instantly, and subsequently won the Best Director, Best Leading Actor, and Best Supporting Actor at the Chinese Drama Awards.
