Longtan Forest Park is located 8 kilometers south of Tianmu Lake, covering an area of approximately 20,000 acres. The park is abundant with bamboo, pine, chestnut, and tea trees, which dress the mountains in lush greenery.
A 4-kilometer mountain trail winds through the park, flanked by towering bamboo and pine trees, with pine needles carpeting the ground. Rhododendrons, white roses, and other flowers embellish the path. The trail leads to Xia Meilin, situated at an elevation of 210 meters, and then to the park’s highest point, the 60-acre summit at 348 meters, offering a vast and expansive view. Climbing to the watchtower, the picturesque scenery of Yixing’s Hengshan Reservoir and the lake and mountains of Tianmu Lake unfold before your eyes, as if in a painting.
Near the park, there is the Qianhua Temple, originally built during the Qing Shunzhi period. Although only remnants of walls and ruins remain, the white magnolia and fragrant garden trees within the temple still thrive with vitality.
The park is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
