Qingdao’s ‘Diaoyutai’ is located at No. 9 Shanhaiguan Road, reminiscent of Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, hence the name ‘Diaoyutai’ in Qingdao. This is an American-style building, formerly the residence of Admiral Kirk, the commander of the US Seventh Fleet, with all furniture imported from the United States, some of which are still preserved. Later, it became the residence of Admiral White Gill, the commander of the US Western Pacific Fleet.

After the liberation, this place was originally under the jurisdiction of the Central Health Department’s Qingdao Rest Area Committee and is now part of the Badaguan Hotel. In 1994, a new building was constructed in the northeast corner of the park, decorated to five-star standards, and is known as the ‘VIP Building’. This scenic spot is located in the heart of Badaguan, with nearby attractions such as No.

1, 5, 13 (Han Fuqu Villa), 17 (Marshal’s Building), Huashi Building, and the Second Seawater Bathing Beach. Walking on the road, one can hear the distant sound of waves crashing on the shore and the nearby rustling of leaves. In ‘Badaguan’, Shanhaiguan Road is close to the sea, with beautiful and distinctive architectural scenery on both sides, making it a popular summer resort destination in Qingdao.

The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the daily opening conditions, and the scenic area is not open to the public.
