Wuyi County Museum

The new museum of Wuyi County is located in the Bei Ling New District and is a comprehensive local museum. The architectural style of the venue is simple and grand, with a ground floor area of 10998 square meters, making it a new landmark in Wuyi. The museum officially opened on May 24, 2019.
The museum is divided into five major functional areas: exhibition, preservation, social education, leisure, and office. The exhibition area adopts a ‘3+2’ model, consisting of three permanent exhibition areas and two temporary exhibition areas. The permanent exhibition areas showcase Wuyi’s natural resources, historical culture, folk customs, and local kiln culture, appealing to both refined and popular tastes; the Southern Song Dynasty Xu Weili documents, due to their special status, are displayed in a separate national treasure hall.
The temporary exhibition areas are equipped with a constant temperature and humidity system and lighting system, providing a high-quality environment for cultural relic exhibitions, capable of hosting high-quality exhibitions. Additionally, the preservation area is equipped with a cultural relic restoration room, appreciation room, photography room, and other comprehensive functions; the social education interactive area, in line with the new positioning of museums by the International Council of Museums, includes a second classroom, audio-visual room, expansion area, heritage area, painting area, and a series of social education functional areas.
The museum also has reception rooms, multi-function lecture halls, tea and coffee reading areas, and atrium gardens for visitors to rest and be served, meeting the diverse leisure needs of the audience. It aims to create a city cultural leisure center that integrates landscape, cultural landscape, and urban landscape for local citizens. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 16:30; closed all day on Monday.
