The Qingdeng Stone Carving Art Museum is adjacent to the Sanyang Wetland. The museum has two floors. It collects more than 10,000 stone carvings and brick carvings from various places in Wenzhou and of various years. The exquisite stone carvings on display date back to the Tang and Five Dynasties and down to the Qing Dynasty. Generally, they include three categories: Buddhist statue stone carvings, inscription stone carvings, and architectural stone carvings. The inscription stone carvings on display on the first floor of the main exhibition hall are mostly from the hands of cultural celebrities in Wenzhou’s history. While most of the architectural stone carvings are collected from urban and rural demolition and renovation sites. Household stone basins, courtyard rocks, and well rings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties exude a strong Wenzhou and southern Zhejiang style of life atmosphere.
