Introduction: Xiuning County was established in the 13th year of Jian’an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (208 AD). It has a history of 1,800 years and is known as ‘Zou Lu in the southeast’. From the 10th year of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty (1217) to the sixth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1880), there were a total of 19 native and affiliated number one scholars in Xiuning County. It is known as the ‘No. 1 county of number one scholars’. The China Number One Scholar Museum began to be planned in 2004 and was officially opened to the public in July 2005. It is currently the only comprehensive museum in China that showcases the culture of number one scholars and integrates traditional Chinese culture and local folk customs. The China Number One Scholar Museum is located on the site of the ancient county government office in Xiuning. The layout of the entire building complex is open and closed in an appropriate way, magnificent and spectacular.
