Ge Xian Temple, also known as Ge Xian Weng Temple (or Ge Xian Weng Shrine), was the site where Taoist priests and medical practitioners Ge Xuan and Ge Hong built huts to refine elixirs over two generations.
After the Tang Dynasty, Ge Xian Temple gradually flourished. During the Ming Dynasty’s Zhengtong era (1436-1449), Taoist priests Wang Shouyi and Kang Zhixuan, in search of a famous mountain and a beautiful place to cultivate their nature and practice Taoism, traveled to Xiangcheng and established the ambition to assist in building Ge Xian Temple.Ge Xian Temple
