Xujiang Park was built in 1985. It covers an area of 162.8 mu, including 19.5 mu of water area and 2,527 square meters of various buildings. The park is lush with trees, beautiful scenery and fresh air. It enjoys the reputation of ‘the first park in western Zhejiang’. The park consists of five functional areas, namely children’s playground, animal viewing area, calligraphy and painting exhibition area, bonsai breeding area and waterscape area, which can fully meet the leisure and entertainment requirements of people at different levels.
In front of Xujiang Park, there are ornamental columns standing. Entering the gate, on the front are fish ponds, railings, rockeries and stone caves. Stone carvings such as frogs spouting water, dragons drooling, children playing in water and carps leaping waves are vivid. On the right is the children’s playground. Big windmills, small trains, yachts, spiral ladders, lotus turntables, electric cars and airplanes not only make children reluctant to leave, but also make adult tourists linger. A little to the east, there is a monkey mountain. Groups of big and small monkeys climb among the rockery piled with stones. Crossing the arch bridge and following the stone path to the north, it is circuitous. The trees are lush and the grass is spreading on the ground. The fragrance is tangy among osmanthus clusters, and the fragrance is overwhelming under magnolia trees. Looking from a high place, the twin towers seem to hold back the water going north of Xujiang River. The stone birds (Jigong Mountain) seem to peck at the setting sun in autumn. It is a magnificent sight. Descending the stone steps and enjoying the moonlight over the lotus pond. When the interest is not exhausted, one goes up the steps and suddenly sees an open area. The land is flat and wide. The simple and unsophisticated building is ‘Xujiang Art Gallery’. From time to time, there are calligraphy, painting and seal cutting exhibitions. Artists ponder and discuss here. It is also quite interesting like a ‘paradise for the elderly’. Open all year round and all day.Xujiang Park
