The Firefly Science Pavilion is a collaborative project between Wuxi Firefly Ecological Protection and Cultivation Center and Wuxi Longsi Ecological Garden Co., Ltd., with an area of over 1300 square meters, located next to Wuxi Longsi Ecological Garden. It is a science museum in China themed around the protection, cultivation, display, and appreciation of fireflies. Currently, the artificial cultivation of fireflies includes species such as the Luciolinae, Luciola, Luciola parvula, Luciola cervicalis, and Luciola lateralis, with over 200,000 larvae of the Luciolinae species alone. The museum features viewing and leisure areas, including a pavilion for tea drinking, an animal feeding area, and a children’s fishing area. The pavilion tea drinking area offers a pleasant view, making it an ideal spot for friends to spend a leisurely afternoon; the animal feeding area is home to black swans, koi carp, white guinea fowl, rabbits, lambs, and piglets, offering a great place for family bonding; the children’s fishing area contains fish and shrimp, allowing children to reconnect with nature and enjoy the joy of fishing. Additionally, the museum houses squirrels, sugar gliders, tortoises, mandrakes, African daisies, and other flora and fauna, making it a perfect weekend getaway. In the future, the museum will introduce children’s play equipment and amusement parks, allowing children to play freely and enjoy a happy childhood. The museum can accommodate up to 200 visitors at a time, and since the viewing is indoors, it is unaffected by various weather conditions, open all year round. During the viewing season, we will estimate the number of fireflies in advance. Opening hours are from 09:00 to 16:30 all year round. Preferential policy for children: free for children under 0.9 meters (inclusive).
